Bora Bora – St. Regis Bora Bora Resort

Ever since I watched the film Couples Retreat, I was dead set on visiting Bora Bora at least once in my life. It looked like absolute paradise – the over water bungalows set against the gorgeous blue water and white sand backdrop; indulging on endless amounts of fresh seafood and coconut water; or sipping on cocktails from a swim-up bar. So we did exactly that. We splurged a bit and stayed at my favorite resort to date – St. Regis Bora Bora, which coincidentally was also the shooting location for Couples Retreat. Below is a highlight of our most memorable and picturesque week and a half at the St. Regis Bora Bora.

Our vacation in paradise started as soon as we touched down in Bora Bora. We were welcomed by their airport greeter and the St. Regis yacht was already waiting to take us to the resort from the airport. {The resort is only accessible by boat or helicopter}.

A promising sign of a peaceful and beautiful vacation ahead.

We were welcomed into our bungalow with complimentary champagne and pretty Petit Fours, which we enjoyed on our private deck. Yep, that is the ocean underneath the glass floor of our table. {Did I mention our accommodations came with butler service? My favorite part of the stay!}.

Our over water bungalow villa was nothing short of luxury and chic. I wish I could capture the entire bathroom in this shot.

Other than having dinner on the main island a couple of times, we pretty much stayed in the resort simply because there was so much to do there {and it’s just so beautiful!}. Here are a few things you can take advantage of while staying at the St. Regis…

Such clear water…though I don’t think the fish appreciated us crowding its space.

I will be the first to admit…I really suck at paddle boarding. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s just the pounding fear that the board will flip over.

One of the many things I love about this resort is that there are several pools onsite {no crowds!}.

Every morning, we’d wake up and take in the gorgeous ocean view while having our breakfast. We also enjoyed some delicious fresh fish and cocktails at their Sushi Take restaurant and experienced a French-Asian fusion dinner at their beautiful Lagoon Restaurant by Jean-Georges.

I relished every second of peaceful serenity on this beautiful island with absolutely nothing work related to tend to. It was really the most blissfully happy and relaxing vacation I have ever experienced!
