Hi everyone, hope you had a nice weekend! I thought I’d start this week off by sharing with you a few places I loved roaming around while I was out in Paso Robles. Aside from wineries, there are some pretty cool places to check out there while you’re giving your liver a break. Below are my top places to visit in Paso Robles!

Hearst Castle

Originally designed for newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, Hearst Castle attracted the likes of the Hollywood and political elite that included Franklin Roosevelt, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, and Winston Churchill in its heyday in the 1920s and 1930s. The expansive estate boasts indoor and outdoor swimming pools, movie theater, and also a total of 56 bedrooms, 61 bathrooms, and 19 sitting rooms. I’m not sure how accurate this tidbit of information is, but I have heard that their grand dining room is the inspiration behind the dining hall at Hogwarts Castle in the film, Harry Potter.

Robert’s Restaurant

We initially made dinner reservations here to celebrate our wedding anniversary on the actual date, but seeing that our adorable furry one made it very clear she didn’t want to be left behind, we took her with us and were lucky enough to still be seated outside. Though we ate in their outdoor area, I was still able to take a peek inside their beautifully chic and classy decor, just how I like it. The food was delicious and their staff was attentive {they also left out a bowl of water for our doggie}. Below are snapshots of our anniversary dinner.

Downtown Paso

On our last day in Paso Robles, we took some time to stroll around their downtown area, which is quite nice and charming. I am a huge brown butter fan, so naturally, the discovery of The Brown Butter Cookie Company was actually a highlight for me. Their original brown butter sea salt cookies in my opinion is their most delicious cookie {I came back with two dozen}, and their coconut lime a close second. They are more than happy to give you samples of all their other flavors too, yum!

Their General Store is filled with so many cute knick knacks, local artisanal goods for the pantry and home, and gifts. We definitely took some time shopping around there.
